TLT hatrick closes the books on KPMG

1st place in the league was achieved last night by way of a harder than expected 4-0 victory over KPMG.

Despite the fact the score could have been more in our favour, it was a dominating performance and a great team effort by all. A clean sheet was well deserved, with Wayne stopping anything they could throw at him and the defense rarely troubled at the back. Steve R, Ray, Dom and Inky easily disposed of their attacks and played the ball effectively out of the back into great midfield and forward positions. Matt G, Des, Joe and Darren did the job in midfield playing an excellent game - controlling the center by fighting for every ball and often passing well into the open man, often not allowing KPMG to see the ball for a while. Up front, the gaffer and Tim provided the attack, with Tim providing an outstanding display of finishing for which KPMG had no answer.

Again a tense start to the game provided hurried passes and unsettled play in the first few minutes. The chances started coming once we settled in a bit and we went 1-0 up after ten minutes. After collecting and excellent through ball from Dom the Gaffer fired into the top corner for his 22nd goal of the season, prompting the customary rub of the "buddha belly".

We received a chance to go 2-0 up a few minutes later when awarded a penalty but the Gaffer pulled a "Beckham" slipping on the shot and firing wide! It was there the similarities with Beckham stopped! Several misses capped of a bad evening again but as in the last few games, others stepped up to the plate to hit us a home run.

The half ended with us up 1-0 but it was soon 2-0 just 5 minutes into the second half through a shot cracked inside the far post by Tim for his 9th goal of the season. KPMG continued to cause us trouble for short periods with Wayne have to pull off a few goal-saving dives. Tim soon extended our lead again, firing home for our 3rd and again for our 4th for a hat-trick for the night and finishing with 11 goals for the season.
